On 1st May 2004 a new regulation Document M – Access to and Use of Buildings (2004 edition) was issued. This refers to new critical location buildings, as well as refurbishments of existing buildings from that date; it is a duty of care and states the following: Glass entrance doors and glazed screens will satisfy Requirements M1 or M2 if: They are clearly defined with manifestation on the glass at two levels, 850 to 1000 mm and 1400 to 1600 mm above the floor level, contrasting visually with the background seen through the glass (from both inside and outside view) in all lighting conditions.
What is Manifestation & Partition Window Film?
Manifestation & partition Window Film, also referred to as fenestration, provides a simple and effective solution in making large expanses of glass apparent, therefore reducing the risk of accidental collision and injury. It is a legal requirement as detailed in both Regulation 14 of the Workplace Health, Safety & Welfare Regulations, Building Regulations and the Disability Discrimination Act.
Sureguard Window Films® provide an extensive range of manifestation & partition Window Film solutions. Created from either coloured vinyl’s or a collection of frosted, dusted, etched and sandblasted effect materials. We are able to produce solutions ranging from simple dots and squares to more complex and bespoke designs. These can also include corporate logos and/or advertising.

Manifestation & Partition Window Film from Sureguard Window Films®
With the increasing use of fully glazed windows and doors in offices, manifestation and bespoke deigns of window graphics not only enhance the aesthetics of the glass but also help to satisfy Health & Safety requirements in the form of Document M & DDA Regulations by making glass apparent. Manifestation for internal windows are available in various standard designs which, when applied at 2 heights, will make the glass comply with the required standard. However, if you would prefer something different to the standard designs and maybe offer increased privacy, or incorporate your company name or logo, we will work with you to achieve a design that satisfies both your needs and Health & Safety requirements.
