In September 2015, Sureguard Window Films® was appointed Principle Contractor of a large project in Sheffield at Velocity Tower.
The scope of works was to upgrade the existing Toughened glass with Clear Safety Window Film to protect the glass in the event of a breakage or spontaneous combustion. With 2k of glass panels to be removed, treated with Window Film and then reinstated in just 12 weeks.
The External Clear Safety Window Film used was from Solargard.
The project involved Sureguard Window Film® being on site at least 5 days a week in a site based office to run a safe working site while the building continued to function as a 21 story residential tower housing over 200 residents and 2 businesses.
Other contractors appointed by Sureguard Window Films® were Rowland Scaffold whom, provided a Crash Desk at the foot of the building and Evander Glass & Locks whom exchanged the glass via a team of Rope Access Operatives.
During our time on site, there were no incidents to report and the a HSE visit found, ‘nothing to report’.
