Regulation14 (pdf)
Since it's publication as
part of the Workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare)
Regulations 1992 this legislation has required employers
to ensure that glass within critical locations throughout
their premises has been subject to a risk assessment
to ensure that it meets a minimum safety impact
standard.
Employers who fail to meet this
legal obligation run the risk of costly litigation
should an accident occur involving these glazed
areas.
Regulation 14 can be complex and
difficult to interpret for those not dealing with
such issues on a daily basis.
