Director to Jump off a Sheffield Hallam University Building for Alzheimer’s

One of our Directors, Aimee Holmes, and her Brother-in-Law are going to abseil down the Owen Building at Sheffield Hallam University. Have they gone mad????

So many of us know someone who suffers with dementia and/or Alzheimer.

We want to do our bit, as Sureguard Window Films®, to support the research and support of current and future sufferers.

The ascent will be on Sunday 13th May between 10am and 12 noon, off the below 10 storey Building which is an icoic building in Sheffield.

We’ll be recording the ascent down the building. Videos will follow (much to Aimee’s disappointment).

Its’s all for a good cause!

Aimee’s Nan has been robbed of her later life and has been suffering for a number of years and we want to do our bit to help rid this horrid disease. And we are sure they will have fun along the way.. or not! 😉

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia. The word dementia describes a set of symptoms that can include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language. These symptoms occur when the brain is damaged by certain diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease. This page describes the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, how it is diagnosed, and the factors that can put someone at risk of developing it. It also describes the treatments and support that are currently available.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
