British Safety Standards 6262
- Safety Glazing
BS6262 British Standard
sets out guidance on the use of safety glazing within
buildings.
Designers and architects have
to pay particular attention to the use of the areas
where glass is to be installed.
Do the activities present a greater
risk of injury through impact with glass?.
Examples could include Gymnasiums
- High level of activity Swimming Pools - Increased
risk of slipping etc.
Although these references primarily
relate to new build projects, refurbishments or
changes in use present similar safety concerns.
In order to reduce the project
costs but increase future safety it is possible
to apply Sureguard Safety Films to existing glazing,
upgrading the glass in-situ to a recognised and
acceptable safety impact performance standard.
