Sureguard Window Films is now a registered trade mark ® Sureguard Energy Services Limited has been establish since 1983. We are 30 this year! So, a big happy 30th birthday to Sureguard Energy Services Limited. We have, over the past few years, called ourselves “Sureguard Window Films”.
Last year, on receiving a recommendation through our Accountants, Hart Shaw http://www.hartshaw.co.uk/ we instructed solicitors, Ironmonger Curtis http://www.ironmongercurtis.com/ to work on behalf of Sureguard to make our trading name official & protect Sureguard Window Films legally.
The process was made trouble-free & straightforward, thanks to the brilliant work of Ben & his colleagues at Ironmonger Curtis. The advice & support received throughout was explained in detail. As a plus point to us & much to our surprise, the process of trade marking Sureguard Window Films® did not cost the earth.
The Benefits of having a registered Trademark
In registering our name & logo as trademarks Sureguard Window Films® means:
• we gain exclusive rights of use for the goods & services.
• we can now show the ® symbol next to our name & logo it to warn others against using it. However, using this symbol for a trade mark that is not registered is an offence.
• Should put people off using our trade mark without our permission
• makes it much easier for us to take legal action against anyone who uses trade mark without our permission • allows Trading Standards Officers or Police to bring criminal charges against counterfeiters if they use our trade mark
• the registered items are our property, which means we can sell it, franchise it or let other people have a licence that allows them to use it.
This demonstrates our commitment to our name & longevity within our industry. We feel & hope other feels the same in that by having a registered Trademark this portrays professional organisation & in the current climate we have taken the necessary steps to protect ourselves & Sureguard as a company.
We also send this as a strong message to deter others in “copycatting” our name &/or logo. Sureguard Window Films® understands & appreciates that this makes it much easier to take legal action against anyone who does.

1. The actual name – “Sureguard Window Films®”
2. Also, our logo
So, it is official – Sureguard Energy Services Limited aka Sureguard Window Films®
All we have to do now is update our stationery, letterheads, website, workwear, vehicle livery etc, & update our website with the ® – as this is currently showing TM. So, not much then!!!
